국제학연구소의 퍼시픽 리포트 제5호가 발간되었습니다.
제5호에서는 ‘미·중 경쟁 시기 인도의 외교 전략: 한국에 대한 교훈’라는 제목으로 인도 자와하랄 네루대학교 국제학부 산딥 쿠마르 미슈라 교수가 기고하였습니다.
미슈라 교수는 인도가 최근 들어 더 '단호해진' 중국의 태도에 신경을 곤두세우고 있으며, 미국과 많은 부분 입장을 공유한다고 분석합니다. 그러나 이 점이 중국과의 직접적인 대립을 원한다는 것은 아니며 인도는 외교 정책의 '전략적 자율성'을 유지하고자 한다는 점을 설명하고 있습니다. 인도는 전략적 자율성의 추구가 미국과의 관계를 희석하고자 하는 행위가 아님을 전달하려고 노력하고 있으며, 미슈라 교수는 한국이 이런 접근법에서 배울 점이 있을 것이라고 주장합니다.

The Insitute of International Affairs has released the new Pacific Report No. 5. In this issue, Professor Sandip Kumar Mishra at the School of International Studies at Jawaharlal Nehru University contributed an article titled 'India's Diplomatic Strategy amidst the US-China Competition and Lessons for South Korea'.
Professor Mishra emphasizes that India is closely observing China's recent assertive behavior and shares many aspects of its stance with the United States. However, it is important to note that India's intention is not to seek direct confrontation with China; instead, it aims to maintain its "strategic autonomy" in foreign policy. India seeks to convey that the pursuit of strategic autonomy is not meant to dilute its relationship with the United States. Professor Mishra argues that there are lessons Korea can learn from this approach.
