2019 Fall Semester Thesis Defense for the Master’s Thesis

 

1. Qualifications to Write Thesis (Thesis Examination)

A) Applicants must have passed the Thesis Submission Qualification Examination and have met the foreign language requirements (English & 2nd Language)

B) Applicants must have completed or expected to complete all required credits by the end of this semester (at least 45)

C) Applicants must submit their thesis within four years (Master’s program) of completing their coursework

*Applicants who cannot meet this requirement due to military service, must hand in papers of proof of service

D) Applicants who have been approved for the extension of the thesis submission deadline according to the clause 2 of Article 9 of SNU’s Degree Conferral Regulations

E) Applicants who November submit their thesis according to the clause 4 of Article 9 of SNU’s Degree Conferral Regulations

F) Applicants who have completed all coursework must be registered as research students

G) Applicants must have presented and submitted their thesis proposals.

(Thesis proposal and thesis defense cannot be done in the same semester)

2. Procedure for Application of Thesis Examination

A) Application

a) Period: October 8, 2019 ~ October 16, 2019

b) Through mySNU site (http://my.snu.ac.kr-> Academic Affairs-> Graduation-> Thesis/Dissertation-> Thesis/Achievement Examination)

* All students should apply online application first.

B) Submission of Documents

a) Period : October 8, 2019 ~ October 16, 2019

b) Place : GSIS Administration Office

c) Documents to Submit:

① Application for Master's Thesis Examination

② Application for Appointing Examination Committee

③ Research Integrity Compliance Statement

Changing form for Thesis Committee members (if it is needed)

Changing form for Thesis Topic (if it is needed)

* Students who applied online should submit required forms to admin. Office directly.

 

3. Payment of Thesis Examination

A) Payment

a) Period: October 18, 2019 ~ October 30, 2019 (9:00~17:00)

(* Only those who submitted the application form can pay the thesis fee.)

b) Place: Any Nonghyup or Shinhan Bank

c) Fee: KRW 100,000 (Master’s program)

d) Procedure: ① Print out the payment bill from the website, http://my.snu.ac.kr

(login and click on "학사행정" from the main menu → "졸업" →

"논문심사료 납부고지서" → "출력")

② Pay fee at bank (or Transfer to own virtual account by internet banking)

4. Submission of Thesis Defense

(a) Period: November 11, 2019 ~ November 12, 2019

(b) Place: GSIS Administration Office

* Submit 3 copies of the thesis for screening to the GSIS Administration Office (If one of the committee members is not within GSIS, the student must give the thesis directly to that member)

5. Screening of Thesis Defense (Presentation)

- Period: November 22, 2019 ~ November 29, 2019

* Detailed schedule will be announced on the Notice board of GSIS website

* That Schedule can be changed.

6. Printing and Submitting Thesis

* Those who fail to submit their thesis within the specified time frame will not be qualified to receive degree.

Those who have passed the thesis examination must submit their thesis according to the specified time frame and the “Guidelines for Thesis Binding and Printing.”

* Title of the thesis must be the same as the title of ‘Evaluation Master’s Thesis.’

A) Submission of Thesis (PDF File):

(a) Period: After Thesis Examination is completed ~ January 30, 2020

(b) Place: On-line (http://lib.snu.ac.kr→ "학술연구지원" → "학위논문온라인제출")

B) Submission of Thesis (Fully Bounded Copies with Silver Letters for a Master’s Thesis):

(a) Period: January 28, 2020 ~ January 30, 2020

(b) Place: Central Library 4th Floor

(c) Number of Copies: Three (1 original, 2 copied)

* When handing in your thesis to the Central Library, please keep the Thesis Submission Certificate to hand in to the GSIS Administration Office.

C) Others: 1 copy of thesis and Thesis Submission Certificate must be handed to the GSIS Administration Office

2019학년도 2학기 석사학위 논문심사(Defense) 계획 공고

 

1. 논문 제출자격

가. 논문제출자격 외국어(영어,2외국어) 및 종합시험(전공시험)에 합격한 학생

나. 교과 학점 : 수료에 필요한 학점(45학점)을 당해 학기말까지 취득하였거나 취득할 수 있는 학생

다. 학위 논문제출 허용 기한(과정 수료 후 석사 4년)이 경과되지 않은 학생

* 군복무로 인한 기한 경과 시 증빙서류(주민등록 초본 등)를 제출할 것

라. 본교 학위수여규정 제9조 제②항의 단서에 의거 논문제출기한 연장을 승인 받은 자

마. 본교 학위수여규정 제9조 제④항의 단서에 의거 논문제출 기회를 부여받은 자

바. 수료자는 논문심사학기의 정해진 기간에 연구생등록을 하여야 함

사. 이미 지난 학기에 논문계획서를 발표하고 제출한 자에 한함

 

2. 논문심사 일정

. 논문제출 신청

1) 온라인접수기간 : 2019. 10. 8() 10. 16() 오후 5시까지

2) 신청방법 : mySNU 로그인 -> 학생서비스-> 졸업-> 논문/실적심사 신청/취소

. 서류제출

1) 서류제출 기간 : 2019. 10. 8() 10. 16() 오후 5시까지 (*온라인 접수자에 한하여 제출)

2) 서류제출 장소 : 국제대학원 교무행정실(온라인접수 완료자에 한하여 서류 제출)

3) 제출서류 : ①석사학위 논문심사원 ②논문심사위원 신청서 ③연구윤리 준수 확인서

④논문심사위원 변경신청서(해당자만) ⑤논문주제 변경신청서(해당자만)

* 반드시 온라인접수를 완료한 후, 온라인접수자에 한하여 서류 제출하여야 함.

. 논문심사료 납부기간 : 2019. 10. 18() 10. 30(), 9:00-17:00 (*신청서 접수자에 한하여 납부)

1) 논문심사료 : 석사 100,000원

2) 납부장소 : 농협중앙회 및 신한은행 전 지점

3) 납부방법 : 논문제출 예정자가 서울대학교 포털 마이스누에서 고지서를 출력하여 지정한

은행에 납부 (또는 가상계좌로 입금)

※ 고지서 출력방법 : 서울대학교 포털 마이스누(http://my.snu.ac.kr) 로그인 → 학사행정

→ 졸업 → 논문심사료 납부고지서 → 출력

. 심사용 논문제출 : 2019. 11. 11() 11. 12()

마. 논문심사 : 2019. 11. 22(금) ~ 11. 29(금) 예정(* 세부 발표일정 추후 공지)

 

3. 학위논문(보존용) 인쇄 및 제출(미제출시 학위수여 대상에서 제외됨)

학위논문심사에 합격한 자는 ‘석사?박사 학위논문 제본 및 인쇄 요령’에 의거 정해진 기간 내에 학위논문을 제출해야 함 (* 논문 제목은 최종 논문심사요지의 제목과 반드시 일치하여야 함.)

가. 학위논문 PDF 원문 파일 제출

1) 제출기간 : 논문심사 종료 후 ~ 2020. 1. 30(목)

2) 제출방법 : 중앙도서관 홈페이지(http://lib.snu.ac.kr) → 학술연구지원 → 학위논문온라인제출

나. 보존용 논문 제출
1) 제출기간 : 2020. 1. 28(화) ~ 1. 30(목)

2) 제출장소 : 중앙도서관 4층 로비

3) 제출부수 : 은박 하드카바 학위논문 3부(원본1부 + 사본 2부)

다. 학위논문 제출 확인서 제출 : 국제대학원 교무행정실에 학위논문 1부와 함께 제출
