      On April 13th, 2017, Gordon Flake, the founding CEO of the Perth USAsia Centre, gave a special lecture on “Challenges to the Rule-Based International Order: Opportunities for ROK-Australia Cooperation.” Explaining the importance of the liberal world order to countries like Korea and Australia, he highlighted the need for like-minded countries with shared interests and share values to work closely to reinforce the standards, norms and institutions which sustain that order. At the end of the session, he also answered several questions from the participating students about the possibility of ROK-Australia cooperation in terms of North Korea issue and the potential of the MIKTA (Mexico, Indonesia, South Korea, Turkey, and Australia).
