Makoto IOKIBE, Chancellor of Prefectural University of Kumamoto
The ‘Asia and the World’ Public Lecture was held on June 4th at Sochon Convention Hall.
Mr. Makoto Iokibe, Chancellor of Prefectural University of Kumamoto and Former President
of the National Defense Academy of Japan, spoke to the students about the ‘Rise of China
and Security in East Asia.’ He examined various securities issues in the region and provided
answers to numerous questions raised by the students including Japan’s attitude towards
the rise of China, US-Japan alliance, etc.
