The first GSIS Public Lecture: Asia and the World of the year 2012 was held on the 26th March
at Sochon Convention Hall.
Somaly Mam, a Cambodia human rights activist and a representative of the Somaly Mam Foundation,
gave a lecture titled "Actions against Human Trafficking in Cambodia". A victim of human trafficking
herself, she shared her own experience, the stories of girls she has saved and the work of NGOs to
fight against sex slavery and human trafficking.
