Humanitarian Affairs Asia and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) will host the 9th University Scholars Leadership Symposium (USLS) 2018 at the United Nations, Bangkok in Thailand from August 1st to 7th, 2018. The theme of the Symposium is “INSPIRING CONFIDENCE, INSPIRE CHANGE”.

We are expecting approximately 1,200 emerging world leaders from United Nations Member States to participate in this event which focuses on developing leaders to bring about social change.

We are pleased to invite the Graduate School of International Studies to nominate  Outstanding Leaders from your university in South Korea, to attend the Symposium or to disseminate this invitation to the greater student population.

The USLS is a week-long Leadership Conference on social development for young leaders from all over the world. The purpose is to instill a sense of social responsibility as well as cultivate the attributes of selfless giving among our emerging world leaders. The delegates will have the opportunity to expand their professional network and meet representatives from numerous United Nations Agencies at the Symposium. Last year, 11 United Nations Agencies showcased their work during the inaugural three-day exhibition: UNDP, UNAIDS, UNFPA, UN-WOMEN, UNV, UNESCO, UN OCHA, UNHRC, UNESCAP, UNICEF and UN-Habitat.

Humanitarian Affairs is affiliated to United Nations Global Compact, World Association of Non-Governmental Organization, International Association for Voluntary Efforts and the World Alliance for Citizens Participation.  More information about the program, speakers and fees of the Symposium can be found in Korean here.
