Regional Fellowship - Asia

The Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs (APSIA) seeks a Regional Fellow to support its work in the Asia-Pacific area.                                                                     

Working with APSIA staff and members, the fellow will advance APSIA’s outreach to prospective students, prospective employers, and prospective members throughout the region. S/he will help to deepen cooperation among APSIA members and increase awareness of the field of international affairs in the region. The 2022 Fellow will be based at Seoul National University in the Republic of Korea.

The Fellowship will begin in April 2022(*subject to change)

 

Resposibilities:

  • Support marketing and outreach efforts to prospective students in the region, including organizing events in coordination with the APSIA central office
  • Ensure regional members and affiliates are aware of and participating in APSIA’s activities and surveys as appropriate
  • Ensure that content relevant to the region and APSIA member schools (i.e. events, holidays, etc.) is included on APSIA’s media channels (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and website)
  • Stay informed about what APSIA members and affiliates in the region are doing and share that information with the APSIA central office; identify opportunities in the region for APSIA and its members to collaborate
  • Identify prospective members and affiliates in the region; supporting the building of relationships, as appropriate, between prospective members and the central APSIA office
  • Research APSIA members’ alumni in the region. Create social media, website, and other tools to share their stories in English and key regional languages.
  • Support opportunities to expand awareness of APSIA and its work within the region; work with APSIA members and affiliates to participate in these opportunities; represent APSIA where needed
  • Identify opportunities to expand programming to advance diversity and inclusion initiatives in the region; plan and execute in coordination with the APSIA central office as appropriate

 

Requirements:

  • Current graduate student at the Seoul National University Graduate School of International Studies.
  • Experience working independently on projects
  • Fluency in English plus fluency in Korean, Japanese, Chinese, or other key language of the region
  • Experience building relationships with new contacts. Marketing and/or communications experience a plus.
  • Experience with event planning and project management.
  • Experience with Canva helpful.

 

Compensation: 720,000 KRW for 40 hours per month
