학생 영문성명 표기 방법 How to write a student's English name
* 표기방법 How to write
1. 기본사항 Basic rules
- 여권상 영문성명과 동일 알파벳으로 표기 (대소문자 및 성-이름의 순서는 하단 2,3, 매뉴얼 준수)
It must be written in the same alphabet as the English name on the passport. (Please check number 2,3 for the order of name)
- 여러 국적의 여권을 소지한 경우 : 서울대학교 학적상의 국적 여권상 영문성명과 동일하게 표기
If you have passports from multiple countries, you must register them with the English name on your passport of your nationality registered on MYSNU.
- 영어 알파벳 이외 다른 언어 철자 사용 불가
Spelling of languages other than the English alphabet is not allowed. (Only English alphabet is allowded.)
- 특수문자 사용을 희망하는 경우에는, 특수문자는 하이픈(-)만 사용 가능
If you want, you can use only hyphen ('-') among special characters.
2. 대소문자 Upper and lower case
- 성은 모두 대문자로 기재하고, 이름은 띄어쓰기 단위 첫 알파벳만 대문자로 기재한다.
All surnames must be written in capital letters, and only the first alphabet in spacing units must be written in capital letters.
3. 성, 이름 순서 Name order
- 한국인: '성 이름' 순서 (예) HONG Gildong 또는 HONG Gil Dong
Koreans: 'Family name + First name' order
- 외국인: '이름 중간이름 성' 순서
Foreigners: 'First name + Middle name + Family name' order
학사 관련 증명서 적용 Application on academic certificate
- 적용 증명서: 학위기(졸업증서) 및 각종 학사 관련 증명서
Certificates with the application: Diploma and various certificates related to academic affairs
※ 외국인 학생: 국문 학위기(졸업증서) 및 각종 학사 관련 국문 증명서에 국문성명 대신 영문성명 기재 예정
(시스템상 외국인 학생의 국문 성명 데이터는 유지)
International students: English name will be entered on Korean Diploma(graudation certificates) and various korean academic-related certificates (not Korean name)
(International students' Korean name data are maintained in the system)
- 적용시기: 2021. 1. 1.부터
Application date: from January 1, 2021
* 학위기(졸업증서): 2020학년도 전기 졸업(2021. 2. 26.)부터
Diploma(graduation certificates): from graduation in 2021
