Euro-Asia Summer School 2017
“EU-East Asia Bilateral and Multilateral Cooperation in Global Governance”(TBD)
The 9th Euro-Asia Summer School in Seoul/Sejong(Seoul National University/KDI School of Public Policy and Management) and Leuven (KU Leuven, Belgium) will be held from August 21nd to September 1nd.
The Euro-Asia Summer School is an annually held summer program by the EU Center at SNU and it is a key opportunity for young talents to meet and interact and therefore to facilitate inter-cultural dialogues on global governance.
Participants of this summer school consist of about 25 students from Hitotsubashi University, KU Leuven, and Seoul National University.
1. PROGRAM DATE
21 August - 26 August 2017: Graduate School of International Studies in Seoul National University and KDI School of Public Policy and Management, Korea
28 August - 1 September 2017: Leuven Centre for Global Governance Studies, KU Leuven, Belgium.
2. REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
1) Application Form (see attached): Fill out and submit to the EU Center (Building 140, Room S206).
2) Statement of Purpose: within 2 pages (A4) in English
3) Resume
4) A copy of transcript (undergraduate and graduate)
5) English proficiency certificate (mandatory)
3. APPLICATION DEADLINE: 12th June, 2017 (Monday) 5:00pm - updated
3 credits will be given to the participants who successfully finish the course
*The application package should be submitted directly to EU center in hard copy during the office hours (If the office is closed, just put the documents under the door and leave a message at the message board attached on the EU center’s door.)
4. INTERVIEW: To be announced later. Approximately scheduled end-May
5. COST
*Normally, the participation fee for the program is 400euros. It includes registration, tuition, accommodation, half-board and domestic travel. But, the actual amount of the participation fee for the program this year will be determined later.
** For about five students of GSIS, the EU center will partly support the costs for the participation on the program at KU Leuven. Please be noted that the amount of assistance is subject to change depending on the budget.
***Other Costs: In addition to the participation costs, airfare, insurance costs, a part of meals and other expenses must be paid by participants.
6. NOTES:
*Any accident, diseases, and other issues that might arise during his/her stay in Europe during this summer program would be due to the participant’s own responsibility, of which expenses must be paid by him/herself. He or she must buy the Overseas Travel Accident Insurance on his or her own expenses.
7. Concerning the credit awarding, it is yet to be confirmed.
