서울대학교 외국인 유학생들에게,
안녕하세요, 국제협력본부에 International Office(I-Office)입니다.
최근 외국인 유학생들이 체류지 변경신고를 기한 내에 하지 않아 벌금을 부과 받은 사례가 늘고 있습니다. 대한민국 출입국관리법에 의거 등록외국인의 등록사항에 변경이 생긴 때에는 변경일로부터 14일 이내에 신 체류지 시·군·구청 또는 새로운 체류지를 관할하는 출입국관리사무소(출장소)에 신고해야 합니다. 이 사실을 인지하지 못해 벌금을 부과 받은 유학생들의 수가 늘고 있어 이를 방지하고자 공지드립니다.
제출서류는 아래와 같습니다.

체류지 변경 증명서 (계약서 혹은 체류지 변경 확인증 등)
출입국관리법에 따라 외국인 유학생들이 등록사항에 변경에 대한 신고를 하지 않거나 출입국관리사무소로부터 합법적인 승인을 받지 못했을 시에는 $10,000(USD)까지 상당의 벌금이 부과될 수 있음을 숙지바랍니다. 또한, 서울대학교에서 유학하는 동안 출입국사무소 홈페이지를(http://www.hikorea.go.kr/pt/main_kr.pt) 정기적으로 방문하여 본인의 체류를 관리할 것을 권고하는 바입니다.

Hello, this is from the International Office (I-Office) in the Office of International Affairs (OIA).
Lately, the number of international students who have been in troubles regarding sojourn-related issues increased. According to the Sojourn Management Law in Korea, the change of the residence must be reported to the local immigration office within 14 days from its occurrence.
Please refer to the list of required documents below:

Alien Registration Card and Passport

Documented proof of new residence such as confirmation letter of dormitory residence
If international students fail to report a change or get proper permission from the Immigration Office in Korea, penalty up to ten thousand dollars will be charged according to the law. Please make sure to report any changes within the period and avoid any damage. Also, visiting the official website of the Immigration Office (http://www.hikorea.go.kr/pt/main_en.pt) regularly is highly recommended during your study in SNU.
