On November 3th, GSIS held an online seminar by Dr. Helena Varkkey of University of Malaya on “Transboundary Haze in Southeast Asia: Causes, Effects, and Solutions.” With a focus on haze as a cross-national environment issue, Dr. Varkkey shared expert views and insightful opinions on the links between haze, palm oil industry, patronage politics, sustainability certification and ASEAN cooperation. Issues and Perspectives (IP) seminar series is part of the Asia and the World program at SNU GSIS sponsored by Toyota Motor Korea.
