As a part of the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence program and with the support of KIEP, a special lecture was hosted by the EU Centre on November 21st 2019. The lecture was given by Professor Sven Biscop of Ghent University. Professor Sven Biscop is the director of the Europe in the World Programme of Egmont-Royal institute for International relations and also teaches International Studies at Ghent University. The lecturer spoke about “EU’s Grand Strategy,” focusing on the security issues and the foreign policies of the EU. Through the lecture and discussions with students, topics such as the European Army and the EU’s stance on the Belt and Road Initiative were explained in depth.
