In his lecture, he introduced the origin and development of the G-20 meetings and shared the outcomes of its recent meetings. In response to the mixed global reactions, he insisted that the G-20 meetings should be continued, differentiated from the G7/8, and eventually institutionalized. Regarding Korea’s role, Dr. SaKong described Korea’s new global leadership as one of the G-20 troika countries as a new chapter to Korea’s diplomatic history and insisted that the event should be recognized domestically as well as internationally.
