On May 14th, 2007, a distinguished lecture was given by Mr. Joel S. Wit, a research scholar at Columbia University, on “Why George Bush Should Visit North Korea?”

With his experience of serving for 15 years in the Department of State as a US-North Korea relation specialist, Mr. Wit insisted the importance of US’s bilateral talk with North Korea and presented a provocative way to solve the North Korean nuclear issue, Bush’s visit to North Korea, and the expanding of the US’s engagement policy through establishing a political and economical relationship. After his lecture an active Q and A session followed where students and professors shared their ideas on current issues of North Korea with Mr. Wit.
