2020 Korean Public Diplomacy Article Contest
CALL FOR PAPERS
The 2020 Korean Public Diplomacy Article Contest aims to promote a better understanding of Korea in the international community and broaden the views and ideas on public diplomacy.
We seek outstanding written works from under graduate, graduate and PhD students who are interested in Korean public diplomacy.
Your works will be evaluated based on their originality and your suggestions for the field, and winners will have an opportunity for publication.
Participants must submit a paper on one of the following topics
- The Role of Korean Public Diplomacy in Addressing Global Issues
- Korean Public Diplomacy and COIVD19
- Korean Digital Public Diplomacy in the 4th Industrial Revolution
- Innovative Model for the future or Korean Public Diplomacy
Best Article Awards
Grand Prize (1 student): Certificate and
KRW 1,000,000
First Prize (2 students): Certificate and
KRW 500,000 (each)
Second Prize (2 students): Certificate and
KRW 250,000 (each)
Special Prize (15 students): Certificate and
KRW 250,000 (each)

Paper Contest Application Documents
You need to fill out and submit Entry form along with your paper to participate in the article contest.
Paper Evaluation Criteria
-Originality of the research questions (20 points)
-Importance of the research questions and academic contribution (20 points)
-Appropriateness and completeness of the research logic (40 points)
-Appropriateness of the critical suggestions (20 points)
Guidelines for the paper
- Times New Roman 12 font
- Double spaced
- No extra spacing above or below paragraphs
- Headings in bold and capitalized with two spaces before and one following
- Text justified on both sides
- First line of every paragraph indented 0.5 inch.
- Please submit your papers using MS Office Word (.docx)

- There is a possibility that the award winners will be invited to award ceremony at Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Final decision regarding this will be made depending on the COVID-19 pandemic situation.
- Papers that were previously published in another format cannot be submitted to the contest.
- Papers that are found to be plagiarizing will be disqualified.
- All conditions of the conference are subject to change without prior notice. If there are changes, they will be announced on this website and sent to participants via email.
*No winner shall be selected if the criteria are not met.
*False facts or violation of Korean laws including plagiarism can lead to nullification of the awards.
