Profile

Chong-Sup KIM received his B.A. in economics from Seoul National University and Ph.D. in economics from the University of Chicago. He was professor at Sogang University(1997-2003) and Instituto Teconologico Automono de Mexico(1991-1997). He worked as advisor in the Energy Regulatory Commission in Mexico(1992-1994). He has also served as the Director of Pribatizations in the Secretary of Finance in Mexico(1995-1996). He joined GSIS at Seoul National University in 2003. Kim is an economist whose research focuses on international and development economics. He has special experience in Latin America, especially Mexico. He has conducted a lot of research on NAFTA from the Mexican standpoint. He has also participated in the privatization programs of the Mexican elecrticity and natural gas sectors. He has lots of publications in the areas of international trade, privatization, economic reform and currency crisis.
