10th Euro-Asia Summer School

“EU-East Asia Bilateral and Multilateral Cooperation in Global Governance”

 

The aim of the Euro-Asia Summer School ‘EU - East Asia Bilateral and Multilateral Cooperation in Global Governance’, organized by the EU Centre (Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence) at SNU in association with Hitotsubashi University (Japan), KU Leuven University (Belgium) and KDI School of Public Policy and Management (South Korea), is to bring together talented students from Asia and Europe to study key aspects of global governance from comparative perspectives. This is a key opportunity for young talents to meet and interact and therefore to facilitate inter-cultural dialogues on global governance.

 1. PROGRAM DATE

20 August - 24 August 2018: Hitotsubashi University, Japan

27 August - 31 August 2018: Leuven Centre for Global Governance Studies, KU Leuven, Belgium.

 2. REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

1) Application Form (see attached): Fill out and email to eugsis@gmail.com, along with the following:

2) Statement of Purpose: within 2 pages (A4) in English

3) Resume

4) A copy of transcript (both undergraduate and graduate)

5) English proficiency certificate (TOEIC, TOEFL, TEPS, etc.)

3. APPLICATION DEADLINE: May 4th, 2018 (Friday)

4. INTERVIEW: To be announced later. Approximately scheduled mid-May

5. COST:

*The participation fee for the program is 500 euros. This includes registration, tuition, accommodation, half-board and domestic travel.

**Other Costs: All other costs (i.e. airfare and insurance costs) are not included. 

***SCHOLARSHIP: The EU Centre will partly support the costs for the participation. The amount of scholarship is subject to be determined depending on the budget.

**Any accident, diseases, and other issues that might arise during his/her stay in Japan and Europe during this summer program would be due to the participant’s own responsibility, of which expenses must be paid by him/herself. He or she must buy the Overseas Travel Accident Insurance on his or her own expenses.

***Upon arrival, all participating students are required to write a 3-page essay regarding the lectures, your own opinions, and overall impression of the two-week program.
