The first Distinguished Lecture of the Asia and the World public lecture series for the year of 2018 was held on Monday, March 26, 2018 in Socheon Hall. Supported by Toyota Motor Korea, the lecture entitled “Peace on the Korean Peninsula in a Changing International Order” was presented by Mr. Ban Ki-Moon, the 8th Secretary-General of the United Nations. Throughout the lecture, Mr. Ban Ki-Moon discussed the topic of how to secure peace on the Korean peninsula and shared his experiences as a diplomat, a foreign minister, a Secretary-General of the United Nations, and as a Korean citizen. Mr. Ban Ki-Moon emphasized the importance of global citizenship and encouraged the students to become global leaders who make a difference in the world. The lecture was followed by a Q&A session and it ended with the presentation of an appreciation plaque and photo sessions.
