gave a lecture titled "Industrial Policy: Its Relevance Today".
In his very dynamic lecture, Dr. Yumkella praised how Asian countries have
succeeded in developing their economies through scientific development and education
and emphasized the importance of adopting such exprience in African and other LDCs.
He also stressed the point that poverty is closely related to security and
explained how UNIDO is working toward realizing MDGs with other UN organizations.
