TPP Negotiation : History, Negotiation, Dynamics and Prospect

- Deborah Elms, Executive Director of the Asian Trade Centre

Deborah Elms is Executive Director of the Asian Trade Centre in Singapore. She is also a senior fellow in the Singapore Ministry of Trade and Industry’s Trade Academy. Previously, she was head of the Temasek Foundation Centre for Trade & Negotiations (TFCTN) and senior fellow of international political economy at the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Her research interests are negotiations and decision making, and her current research involves the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) negotiations and global value chains. She has provided consulting on a range of trade issues to governments including the United Arab Emirates, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Taiwan, and Singapore. Dr. Elms received a PhD in political science from the University of Washington, a MA in international relations from the University of Southern California, and bachelor’s degrees from Boston University.

Prof. Haneda is now professor at the Institue for Advanced Studies on Asia, at Tokyo University. He was the former vice president of the University.
Professor had received B.A. and M.A. in History at Kyoto Universityand Ph.D. in Iran Regional Studies at the Paris III University (Sorbonne Nouvelle)
이란지역학 전공으로 박사학위 취득. 교토다치바나여대 조교수, 케임브리지대 동양학부
객원연구원, 프랑스 CNRS 객원연구원, 도쿄대 동양문화연구소 교수 및 소장, 도쿄
대 부총장 등을 역임.
최근 저서로는 “새로운 세계사로: 지구시민을 위한 구상 (이와나미서점, 2011)” ,
“바다에서 본 역사 (도쿄대학출판회, 2013)”, “동인도회사와 아시아의 바다 (고단샤,
2007)”, “이슬람세계의 창조 (도쿄대학출판회, 2005)” 등.
